Section 4-1 Properties of Minerals

Vocabulary :

inorganic - cannot be made from once living things
crystal - the pattern of a minerals material that will form into a sold.
element - a object made of a single atom.
compound - two or more elements put together so they don't have their distinctive properties anymore.
streak - the color of the minerals powder
luster - how a minerals surface reflects light.
cleavage - a property that lets a mineral split along flat surfaces
fracture - is a rock breaking apart in a different way
fluorescence - an uncommon property of being able to, glow an ultra purple
